We carry out two main joint innovation activities with startups. The first one is to work with a joint team for a brand new product that will be used in Migros processes with a startup that has already produced and sold products before. The second model is the adaptation of the startup's product or service that works in another sector to retail. In both models, a team of entrepreneurs and Migros experts is formed. This team receives basic level agile training together and starts the project where they will run towards a common goal for 3 months. At the end of 3 months, the decision to continue with the product/service adapted to retail or co-developed is evaluated in terms of expansion and further commercialization. Partnership models are designed at different rates for the resulting product.

Within 2 - 4 weeks after the call period ends, the startups selected for Migros Up Pitching Day are announced on Migros Up social media accounts. Startups selected for Pitching Day meet with Migros upper management. After the Pitching Day and the evaluations made following the Pitching Day, agile teams are formed with the startups with whom we will start the joint innovation process and we start working.

The EIT Food Straight2Market Program is an acceleration and support initiative designed to deliver innovative solutions in the food sector to the market more quickly. Startups, SMEs, and entrepreneurs can benefit from this program to develop their own products or improve existing ones. The program offers participants financial support, the opportunity to carry out Proof of Concept (PoC) projects with retailers, and the chance to conduct consumer tests.

Within the scope of the EIT Food Straight2Market program, Migros Up delivers sustainable products to consumers by collaborating with food‑technology startups.
